Recycle for Radio!

You can now recycle your used printer cartridges, mobile phones, stamps, jewellery, currency, cameras and much more - here at Hermitage FM!

So you can now raise funds to help keep your local Community Radio Station on the air, whilst at the same time doing your bit for the environment!

For every ink cartridge you donate we receive £1 through Recycle4Charity - plus extra for mobile phones!

Over 65 million printer cartridges are sold every year in the UK with only 15% currently recycled or re-used.  The plastic casing can take up to 1000 years to decompose - recycling prevents them from ending up in landfill.

Simply throwing out unwanted or old mobile phones can also be harmful for the environment.  There is the potential for toxic contamination caused by certain substances found in mobile phones leaking into the surrounding soil.

Drop your items into the box in our Community Coffee Lounge or you can pick up some Freepost envelopes for Recycle4Charity from us.  You can also click here: to register to support us.

We have also teamed up with Recycling for Good Causes who accept:

- gold & silver (including damaged items)

- costume jewellery

- watches

- foreign or UK banknotes and coins (including outdated)

- stamps

- video/digital/old film cameras

- games consoles

- mp3 players

- laptops & tablets

Just hand your items in at the Community Coffee Lounge - we have leaflets available with a full list of items we can recycle for cash!
